One of the largest fish markets on Korea's east coast, located in Jumunjin. Fresh catches are sold daily — buy raw fish (hoe) on the first floor and have it prepared upstairs. Dried fish, squid, and local seafood snacks line the aisles.

Guide
Jumunjin Fish Market is one of the largest seafood markets on Korea's east coast. The ground floor is the live fish section — pick your fish straight from the tank. Prices are negotiable, and once you have chosen, carry your catch upstairs where second-floor restaurants slice it into sashimi on the spot. There is a table fee called ssam-bi, but market prices for top-tier freshness make it worthwhile. Do not skip the dried-fish alley. Squid, anchovies, and seaweed are stacked in heaps, and tasting is welcome. Arrive early morning to see the day's catch being auctioned in full commotion; come in the afternoon for a calmer browsing pace. Sodol Rock Park and Jumunjin Breakwater are both a five-minute drive away, so the three bundle naturally into a Jumunjin route.
