The oldest surviving astronomical observatory in East Asia, built during the reign of Queen Seondeok in the 7th century. This iconic bottle-shaped stone tower was used to observe stars and predict weather. Its approximately 362 stones (the exact count is debated among scholars) are said to represent the days of the lunar year.
