Hibiya Park, opened in 1903, holds the distinction of being Japan's first Western-style modern park, situated right next to the Imperial Palace grounds in central Tokyo. Its grounds contain remnants of a feudal-era moat, a 400–500-year-old ginkgo tree that survived a road-widening project, and the iconic Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall.
