Hirosaki Castle stands within Hirosaki Park in Aomori Prefecture, surrounded by approximately 2,600 cherry trees across 52 varieties. The park's century-old trees produce clusters of 4–5 blossoms per bud, creating a famously dense floral canopy that consistently ranks among Japan's top cherry blossom destinations.
- From Tokyo, take the Tohoku Shinkansen to Shin-Aomori, then a local train to Hirosaki Station — the total journey is around 4 hours.
- The park is a 30-minute walk from Hirosaki Station, or a 15-minute ride on the flat-rate ¥100 Dotemachi Loop Bus.
- During the Cherry Blossom Festival (mid-April to early May), the Honmaru inner area charges ¥320 for adults and ¥100 for children; the rest of the park is free and open 24 hours.
- Traffic congestion is severe during peak bloom — use public transport and arrive early to claim a good picnic spot under the blossoms.
