Inokashira Park in Musashino, Tokyo is a beloved green retreat built around the large Inokashira Pond, offering paddle boat rentals, a small zoo, an aquarium, and the Benzaiten Shrine. The Studio Ghibli Museum sits within its boundaries, and in spring the pond's edge becomes one of Tokyo's most celebrated cherry blossom picnic spots.
- The park is a 5-minute walk from JR Kichijoji Station (Chuo Line, ~30 min from Shinjuku) or directly accessible from Inokashira-koen Station on the Keio Inokashira Line.
- The park is free; the zoo and aquarium charge separately. Ghibli Museum tickets must be booked online in advance — no walk-in sales.
- On spring weekends the park gets very crowded; arrive early or visit on a weekday for a relaxed atmosphere.
- Renting a swan boat to drift among the cherry blossoms is an iconic Inokashira experience — available beyond cherry blossom season too.
