Marine World Uminonakamichi is one of the largest aquariums in Kyushu, located within Uminonakamichi Seaside Park in Fukuoka's Higashi Ward. Under the theme 'Seas of Kyushu,' the aquarium displays approximately 350 species and 30,000 organisms, and was the first in Japan to exhibit a sand tiger shark in its large panoramic tank. Popular shows include dolphin and sea lion performances and a mesmerizing sardine school display.
- Access by JR to Sakurainosatoakuaside Station (15-min walk) or take the shuttle from Uminonakamichi Station.
- Check the show schedule at the entrance — dolphin, sea lion, and sardine shows run at fixed times.
- Allow 2 to 3 hours for a full visit; add extra time if you want to see all shows.
- Pair with the adjacent Uminonakamichi Seaside Park for a full-day outing.
