Sumida Park along the Asakusa riverbank has been one of Tokyo's premier cherry blossom viewing spots since the Edo period. Roughly 510 cherry trees — including Somei-yoshino — frame the riverfront with Tokyo Skytree in the backdrop, creating one of the city's most iconic spring scenes.
- 3-minute walk from Asakusa Station (Tokyo Metro Ginza/Toei Asakusa lines); 5 minutes from Tobu Skytree Line Asakusa.
- During sakura season (late March–early April), trees are illuminated 6:30–9 p.m. — evening visits are highly recommended.
- Food stalls line the park during the festival, offering takoyaki, yakitori, and sakura-themed treats.
- Board a yakatabune or Tokyo Water Bus for a riverside cherry blossom view from the water.
