Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is a vast national seaside park on a narrow peninsula across Fukuoka Bay, celebrated for its spectacular seasonal flower displays. One million nemophila bloom in spring and 1.2 million cosmos fill the fields in autumn, alongside an animal forest, water park, and cycling paths. It is directly accessible from Fukuoka city via JR Uminonakamichi Station, making it an easy day trip.
- Rent a bicycle (¥500–600) at the entrance — the park stretches nearly 6 km and cycling is the best way to cover it. Open 9:30–17:30 (closes 17:00 Nov–Feb); adults ¥450, under 15 free. The most beautiful seasons are mid-April to early May (nemophila) and October (cosmos). From Hakata Station, take JR to Kashii and transfer to the Kashii Line for Uminonakamichi Station (approx. 40 min total). A ferry from Momochi Seaside Park is a scenic alternative (approx. ¥1,200 one-way).
