Yamashitacho, Naka Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa 231-0023, Japan
Japan's largest Chinatown with over 500 shops and restaurants packed into a few blocks. Walk through the ornate gates, grab xiaolongbao and peking duck from street vendors, and explore Chinese grocery shops. 30 minutes from central Tokyo by train via Motomachi-Chukagai Station.
- Weekends are packed. Weekday mornings are the best time to walk around without being shoulder-to-shoulder.
- All-you-can-eat (tabehoudai) Chinese buffets run 2,000-3,000 yen. Good value for lunch if you're hungry.
- Yamashita Park and the Yokohama waterfront are a 5-minute walk. Good to combine for a half-day trip.
