Firstage Terms of Service

Published: August 29, 2026 · Effective: September 29, 2026

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights and obligations between Hun Seol (the "Company") and you when you use Firstage (the "Service").

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. Service — everything offered at firstage.ai and in the Firstage mobile app: photo records, place organization, journey records, shared workspaces, maps, photobook production, and AI features.
  2. User — a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  3. User Content — photos, writing, place records, journeys, and comments you upload to or create in the Service.
  4. Workspace — a space you create and invite others to, where records accumulate together.
  5. Credits — the in-service unit deducted when you use features whose cost depends on usage, such as AI features.

Article 3 (Posting and Amending These Terms)

  1. The Company keeps these Terms visible in the Service at all times.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law.
  3. Amendments are announced in the Service at least 7 days before they take effect. Amendments unfavorable to users are announced at least 30 days in advance, with a separate notice at sign-in or by email.
  4. If you do not object before the effective date, you are deemed to have accepted the amended Terms. You may close your account at any time.

Article 4 (Accounts)

  1. The recording features require signing in with a Google, Naver, or Kakao account. The Company receives an account identifier and email address from the sign-in provider. Google sign-in also provides a name and profile photo. The Privacy Policy lists the data collected from each provider and the purpose of collection.
  2. The Company does not access your contacts, calendar, files, friends list, gender, age range, birthday, or phone number from a sign-in provider.
  3. You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
  4. Your account is for you alone. You are responsible for activity carried out with it.
  5. Tell the Company immediately if your account is compromised. The Company will act to limit further harm from the time it is notified.

Article 5 (What the Service Provides)

Free and paid scopes are shown on the pricing screen in the Service.

  1. Photo records — upload, automatic reading of capture time and capture location (EXIF), storage of your originals
  2. Place organization — turning photo locations into places and showing them on a map
  3. Journeys and diaries — writing, day-by-day records, and comments on top of photos and places
  4. Workspaces — building and viewing records together with people you invite
  5. AI features — journey drafts, automatic photo sorting, photobook drafts, and similar
  6. Photobooks — editing and ordering your records as printed matter
  7. External publishing — publishing content you select to external accounts you connect yourself (Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, and others)

The Company may add, change, or discontinue parts of the Service. If a paid feature is discontinued, the Company refunds the amount corresponding to the remaining period under Article 10.

Article 6 (Rights in User Content)

  1. You own the copyright in your User Content. The Company does not take it.
  2. You grant the Company the following license, free of charge, only to the extent needed to run the Service. It ends when you delete the content or close your account.
    • Copying and transmission needed to provide the Service, including storage, backup, delivery, and resizing for display
    • Display within the visibility you have chosen
    • Photobook production and printing that you request
    • External publishing that you request
  3. The Company does not use your content in advertising or promotion. The only exception is content you explicitly agree to, case by case, and then only within the scope you agreed to.
  4. The Company does not use your content to train AI models. AI features process your content only at the moment you run them, and only to produce that result.
  5. You confirm that you hold the rights to what you upload, or have permission from the rights holder. If other people appear in your photos, take care not to infringe their likeness rights.

Article 7 (Workspaces and Sharing)

  1. Records placed in a workspace are visible to every member of that workspace. Check what is shared before you invite someone.
  2. If you leave a workspace, records already shared with other members remain there. You can delete records you uploaded yourself.
  3. The Company does not disclose workspace records to non-members. If you create a public link, anyone who knows that link can view it.

Article 8 (Location Information)

  1. The Service handles location in two ways.
    • Location inside photos — the capture location is read from the EXIF of photos you upload, to build places and maps.
    • Your device's current location — used only where a feature needs it (finding places nearby, proximity notifications) and only when you have granted device permission.
  2. Location is used only for these purposes and is not provided to third parties without your consent.
  3. You may turn location permission off in your device settings at any time, and you may delete the location on individual photos. Turning it off limits only the features that need location.
  4. Details of how location is collected, used, and retained are in the Privacy Policy.

Article 9 (AI Features)

  1. AI features run only when you start them, and the Service shows what material will be processed before they run.
  2. AI output is for reference. The Company does not warrant its accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Review and edit the output before you rely on it.
  3. AI processing uses overseas processors (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI). The scope of processing and the items transferred are set out in the Privacy Policy.
  4. AI features may deduct Credits. The amount is shown before you run them.

Article 10 (Paid Services and Payment)

  1. The Company offers the following paid services.
    • Subscription — recurring monthly or annual payment that raises feature limits
    • Credits — prepaid units for usage-based features
    • Photobook printing — a made-to-order product produced from your photobook and shipped to you
  2. Prices, billing cycles, and what is included are shown on the payment screen. Displayed amounts include VAT.
  3. Subscription payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd. as Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payment method details; the Company does not store card numbers or similar details.
  4. Subscriptions renew automatically on the same terms unless canceled. You may cancel at any time in the Service and keep access until the period you already paid for ends.
  5. Price increases are announced at least 30 days before the next renewal, and you may cancel before renewal if you do not accept them.
  6. Some products may be sold through external platforms such as crowdfunding. In that case payment and withdrawal follow that platform's policy.

Article 11 (Withdrawal and Refunds)

  1. Under Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, you may withdraw your purchase within 7 days of payment.
  2. Withdrawal is limited in the following cases. The Company states this on the purchase screen and obtains your consent before you buy.
    • Photobook printing — individually produced from your photos and layout, so withdrawal is not possible once production has begun. Before production begins, you receive a full refund.
    • Credits — Credits already spent are not refundable. Unused Credits are refunded.
    • Subscription — if you have actually used paid features after payment, the amount for the period used is deducted and the rest refunded.
  3. If a product is defective (printing faults, damage in transit, wrong item), you may have it remade free of charge or fully refunded regardless of production status. The Company pays return costs in that case.
  4. Send refund requests through in-service support or to [email protected]. The Company responds within 3 business days and, once approved, processes the refund within 3 to 10 business days depending on the payment method.
  5. See the Refund Policy for details.

Article 12 (Prohibited Conduct)

You must not:

  1. upload content that infringes another person's copyright, likeness rights, or personal information;
  2. upload illegally filmed material, child or youth sexual abuse material, or any other content prohibited by law;
  3. harass or threaten other users;
  4. harvest Service data in bulk by automated means, or reverse-engineer the Service;
  5. interfere with the normal operation of the Service;
  6. use another person's account or payment method.

Article 13 (Restrictions on Use)

  1. If you breach Article 12, the Company may hide or delete the content and, depending on severity, suspend your use or terminate the agreement.
  2. The Company tells you the reason and grounds before acting, except where urgent action is needed to prevent harm — then it acts first and tells you without delay.
  3. You may appeal to [email protected], and the Company replies within 10 business days of receipt.

Article 14 (Service Interruption)

  1. The Company may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, replacement, or failures. Planned maintenance is announced in advance.
  2. If the Company shuts the Service down entirely, it announces this at least 30 days beforehand and provides a way for you to download your photos and records. Any remaining paid period is refunded.

Article 15 (Closing Your Account and Erasure)

  1. You may close your account at any time in the Service.
  2. For 15 days after you close it, data is retained so the account can be restored. Once that period ends, it is erased without delay.
  3. The following records are kept after closure for the periods required by law. They are used only for that purpose, and are processed so that you cannot be re-identified within the Service.
    • Records of contracts or withdrawal of purchase — 5 years
    • Records of payment and supply of goods — 5 years
    • Records of consumer complaints or dispute resolution — 3 years
  4. Records you shared with other members of a workspace may remain there after you close your account. Delete them yourself beforehand and they are erased with everything else.

Article 16 (Liability)

  1. The Company applies reasonable safeguards to your photos and records, and compensates you under applicable law for damage caused by its intent or negligence.
  2. The Company is not responsible for:
    • service interruption caused by events outside its control, such as natural disasters, power failures, or network outages;
    • the content you upload;
    • changes to place information shown in the Service (opening hours, prices, locations). The Company works to keep it accurate but does not warrant real-time accuracy;
    • problems arising in external services you connect yourself (external social accounts, booking sites, and the like).
  3. This Article does not apply to liability for the Company's intent or gross negligence, or to exclusions that Korea's Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions makes void.

Article 17 (Disputes)

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Disputes are first addressed through discussion between you and the Company.
  3. If discussion fails, either party may bring an action before the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
  4. You may also apply for mediation to bodies such as the Korea Consumer Agency or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.
