Dongmun Traditional Market

Jeju Dongmun Market is Jeju's largest and oldest permanent market, formed naturally right after Korea's liberation in 1945. Just a 10-minute taxi ride from Jeju Airport, it's a perfect first stop upon arrival. During the day it's a traditional market selling fresh seafood, tangerines, and dried goods; after 6pm, it transforms into a vibrant night market. The night market is the highlight. Black pork skewers, butter-grilled abalone, hallabong (Jeju tangerine) juice, and omegi-tteok (Jeju millet rice cake) — all Jeju-exclusive street food at 3,000-8,000 KRW each. If you love sashimi, the market's fish stalls serve freshly caught raw fish at local prices. Note: Some sections close on certain Sundays, so check before visiting. The night market gets long lines on weekends — weekday evenings are much more relaxed.
